Laziness and perseverance never mix. The two are at opposite ends of the spectrum, and right in between are a lot of well-meaning people that arenıt lazy at heart. They just donıt realize that if they press on a little farther that God has something wonderful in store! Thomas Edison said that the tragedy of most quitters is that they will never realize how close they were to success when they gave up. Even more, as Christians we may never see the results that ought to keep us pressing onward those eternal rewards that are waiting across the finish line in Heaven.
The point at which we are willing to quit tells a lot about how we view God: If we surrender as soon as it gets tough, we sell Him short, and deny His power. If we continue only to the point of exhaustion, we are walking in our own power. On the other hand, when we make a choice to press through the pain regardless of how bad things seem, we realize Godıs provision and protection, His eternal wisdom, and His infinite power over our everyday challenges.
I have never met a man who regretted trusting God through a difficult situation. If they did regret it, they either gave up on God and missed the blessing, or He isnıt through with them yet!
It has been said that laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you are tired. Perseverance is nothing more than refusing to quit until you cross the finish line. Donıt ever, ever give up.
