Week Four, Day Three
Living for the Moment(s)
Psalm 90:1-12

Moses was truly a man of God, and thus our passage of Scripture today is truly a manly passage.  Moses reveals something most of us realize far too late in life.  Regardless of where you are in your lifešs journey, however, his words can ring true for today.  Moses makes three key points about time:

  1. God is Eternal.  He is outside the bounds of space and time, in contrast to us.  Therefore, we must acknowledge that time is a commodity created by God.

  2. Life is Short.  We begin to exist at some point in time, and our life on earth is truly just a flicker compared to eternity.

  3. Live for Eternity!  We should seriously evaluate our use of the time we have on earth.

If you look back on your life thus far, how do you grade yourself as far as your use of time?  Not only must you look at the efficiency of your time; much more important is the question of the value of your time.  Did you take the time to create moments snapshots of blessing that may be carried into eternity or did you whittle away your time on the urgent things of the days as they ran together?  James Dobson has proclaimed that ŗno man on his death bed ever wished hešd have spent more time at the office.˛
